Year 6 Open Evening

12th September 2017

Time remains for Year 6 pupils to choose The Vale Academy as their secondary school next year.

While an Open Evening and Open Mornings have taken place, anybody yet to make up their mind can give us a call and meet with a senior member of our team.

With excellent GCSE results, a new building and dedicated staff, there has never been a better time to attend The Vale.

Ofsted rates The Vale ‘good with outstanding features’ and it came second in the Scunthorpe Telegraph’s performance tables for the whole of North Lincolnshire.

Principal Nicola Williams was “delighted” by the summer’s results.

A total of 67% of students achieved a ‘standard’ 4+ pass - the equivalent of the old grade C - in English and Maths.  46% achieved a ‘strong’ 5+ pass in the two subjects combined.

Results in English were particularly ‘outstanding' with 86% of students achieving a grade 4+ and 63% grade 5+.

Mrs Williams said: “The results were a credit to our students and staff who coped with the new, more challenging, GCSEs in English and Maths.

“I was also really pleased to see a number of students achieve the new top grade 9 in both subjects.

“We have an excellent reputation and an established trend of high student outcomes which are consistently above those achieved nationally.

“But this school is much more than just academic performance.

“The rigour expected in the classroom is balanced by the many extra-curricular and enrichment activities on offer which help to instil a passion for learning as well as nurturing individual talents.

“As a result, our students are well rounded, caring young people who have high aspirations.

“We know the students well and our talented team of staff genuinely want the best for the young people in our care.

“We are also very well supported by parents, carers, governors and our sponsor, Delta Academies Trust.

“September 2018 will be a perfect time to join our academy,” Mrs Williams added.
