Golf Foundation StreetGolf competition

25th June 2018

Congratulations to The Vale Academy’s girls’ golf team who came sixth in a national final.

Lucy, Daisy, Aisling and Emelia travelled to The 3 Hammers Golf Complex near Wolverhampton to take part in the Golf Foundation StreetGolf competition.

Principal Nicola Williams said the girls put in a really good performance on a short but challenging course.

“The girls had a great day which was very well organised with excellent facilities,” Mrs Williams said.  “They were a credit to The Vale and I would like to add my congratulations.”

Stacey Mitchell, Regional Golf Development Officer (Lincolnshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and East Yorkshire), said the team had qualified from the regional finals to compete against 11 others.

“It's fantastic to see that the girls are representing both the school but also golf in North Lincolnshire, while it's also great to see girls progressing from schools into local golf clubs and becoming members,” she said.

“It's very positive to see girls’ participation in golf on the increase.”
