Delta Academies Trust has the mission statement “Changing Lives”, with the overarching aim being to improve educational outcomes for children in the north of England whilst creating a sustainable organisation that improves our society and the wider environment.
The Vale Academy is a situated in the small market town of Brigg in North Lincolnshire. We are a smaller than average school with 775 students on roll and have a shared sixth form with another local secondary school. The academy has an established trend of high student outcomes which are consistently above those achieved nationally, despite having a broadly average intake.
The academy serves a largely rural area and, although we take most of our students from Brigg and the surrounding towns and villages, a large number of families from outside the catchment area also select The Vale as their secondary school of choice. Indeed, many students travel some distance and the vast majority of students are bussed in.
The academy is in the top 20% of all schools for the proportion of students with EHCP (2.5%). The academy is in the lowest 40% deprivation quintile with 22.5% disadvantaged students. Students in the academy are mainly White British; we currently have 1.7% EAL students.
