Natural detectives were unearthed at The Vale when a forensic psychologist spoke to Year 8s.
John Hartland, who has worked with convicted criminals in various prisons and is now a lecturer at Leeds Beckett University and The University Centre Grimsby, met the Scholars’ Programme students.
Mr Hartland was “amazed” with our students’ intelligence and maturity, said Nicola Elvin, Scholars’ Programme Coordinator.
“He could not believe they were only in Year 8,” she said.
“They asked thought-provoking questions, were incredible at investigating different criminal profiles and held analytical discussions about the justice system.
“Mr Hartland thought we had some natural investigators among the group.
“It proved to be an incredible experience and we were very proud of the mature way our students behaved.”
Ms Elvin thanked Mr Hartland for visiting The Vale.
