We offer a pathway programme for all our students to ensure they are on track, relating to their end goal and academic ability. The pathway programme is designed to ensure that students are prepared for the next phase of their education or to enter employment. The academy also offers a bespoke pathway for students who do not want to specialise too early or who may be unsure of their next progression. We offer a comprehensive range of academic A level courses, supported with a range of technical and vocational courses.
All Year 12 students are entered for the progression module through Leeds Beckett and Huddersfield Universities to develop essential skills in order to prepare students for university and work. Each student is supported by a personal tutor to provide guidance, support with obtaining current careers information and making applications for when students leave The Vale Academy. This is supported through external speakers from a wide range of institutions and employers, including universities and higher level apprenticeship providers.
The Rotary Club provide mock interviews for all Year 13 students in preparation for UCAS and employment applications and interviews. The Extended Project Qualification is also offered as part of the enrichment programme. Careers guidance is provided to all Post 16 students through our independent careers advisors, CareersInc.
Our Level 2 learners for maths and English are given a bespoke package of tuition to prepare them for exams in November and June.
