  •  KS4 (Years 10 and 11) Number of lessons per week: 4 lessons Year 7, 8 & 9. 4 lessons in years 10 & 11.

Course aims The aims and objectives of the Pearson Edexcel Level 1/Level 2 GCSE (9–1) in Mathematics are to enable students to:

  1. develop fluent knowledge, skills and understanding of mathematical methods and concepts
  2. acquire, select and apply mathematical techniques to solve problems
  3. reason mathematically, make deductions and inferences, and draw conclusions
  4. comprehend, interpret and communicate mathematical information in a variety of forms appropriate to the information and context.

Year 7-9 Course: Year 7 are following a mastery approach to mathematics Year 8 are working on key skills and functional elements of mathematics.

  • Year 9 are working on developing understanding and application.

    2. Ratio, Proportion and Rates of Change – 25 %
